When we take on projects our goal is to maximize the impact in all 3 areas of function, emotion, and values alignment. This for the particular VIP stakeholder which could be a key sponsor, employee for the holidays, or a player in a tournament at your rink. To the left are examples of fan store merch that sell for a profit, tournament swag, staff gifts, and key sponsor gifts. Think animated responses that people will be stoked to show their family and friends, and use every week. Green Sports Alliance Awards

For the Bill Walton Global Sustainability Champion Award, the team at the GSA wanted something special for their annual summit in 2026. With their help we were able to get NBA court from the Portland Trailblazers where Bill Walton was instrumental in helping them win a championship. We upcycled the court into a key feature of the award and it made for great visual storytelling.

Organizations have so many hard working people to recognize who do great work every day. We would love to work with your group's materials to make your awards this year the one that people keep and show everyone that comes into their home or office because of how it makes them feel, and what it says about the team they are on.

The Challenge

In 2023, Major League Baseball set out to expand its sustainability recognition, growing from a single league-wide honor — the Green Glove Award — to multiple distinct awards spanning different areas of sustainability. WM introduced us to MLB, and together we developed the trophies to reflect the league's commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship.

The Diverted Materials Used

Working with MLB spring training stadiums, we diverted replica helmets originally used for nachos and Dippin' Dots service, all made from polypropylene (PP), along with a large volume of signature PP stadium cups. We also sourced replaced stadium seating made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), giving these discarded materials a second life as award-worthy components.

The Outcome

Through shredding, melting, machining, and assembly, the diverted materials became custom sustainability trophies crafted in each team's colors. They now are symbols of their efforts and values. A behind-the-scenes video captured the full journey, from material recovery to final presentation. At the 2026 MLB All-Star Game in Philadelphia, this year's award recipients were celebrated with their trophies and video on display.
